Open Road Vapor
Rant about freedom and corruption
I was recently reminded there are new vapers every day and they are not immediately aware of the fight against unreasonable legislation. Since 2010, New York State (I don’t even feel right capitalizing that word anymore) assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal, has been determined to ban or restrict our use of ecigs. 2014 and 2015 brought Kemp hannon onto the scene from the Sate Senate.
Why are these people trying to restrict our freedom to be healthier? This 2010 policy backed by the american cancer society will give you a clue. http://www.ttac.org/tcn/tfp/2010/may-2010/pdfs/Policy_Guidance_E-Cigarettes.pdf. Another clue comes when we look at Hannon’s campaign donations here http://votesmart.org/candidate/campaign-finance/4226/kemp-hannon#.VONk3vnF-ZO . It turns out the so called health care industry is supporting the restricting of e-cigs nationwide! Why are they doing this to us? Well, pharmaceutical companies and hospitals are a business. While many doctors realize the benefits of vaping as a harm reduction method, they are not the shot callers. Hopsitals and pharmaceutical companies are in the business of treating cancer and emphysema. If we all switch to vaping, they lose billions.
As far as online sales go, the only state I’m aware of that is trying to restrict those is Washington.
What can you do? Well, you can speak your mind. We still do have that freedom. You can call your local assembly person and senator to simply let them know you will not be voting for them if they vote for in favor of these bills. http://assembly.state.ny.us/mem/ http://www.nysenate.gov/senators .
If you don’t have the cahones to do that, you can at the very least follow along with the Calls to actions from CASAA.org and join the vaping militia. Both organizations have active facebook groups. http://www.facebook.com/groups/casaamembers/ and http://www.facebook.com/groups/thevapingmilitia/ .
